South Stream Transport B.V. shareholders confirm terms and conditions of South Stream’s offshore section construction

gazprom_smallThe Shareholders of South Stream Transport B.V. held a meeting where they discussed and confirmed the implementation of a number of the Shareholders Agreement terms and conditions, including the company’s long-term business plan draft approval and the Gas Transmission Agreement signing between Gazprom Export and South Stream Transport B.V.

Shareholders Meeting confirmed the decision to continue the large-scale construction of South Stream’s four offshore gas lines with a total throughput capacity of 63 billion cubic meters, as well as shareholders’ financing provision in the amount needed for building South Stream’s offshore section.

Hapag-Lloyd uses advanced hull integrity management system GL HullManager

GL_GROUP_SMALLHapag-Lloyd will implement GL HullManager as their central monitoring and reporting tool for hull maintenance activities. GL HullManager is a part of DNV GL’s fleet management software portfolio and provides ship owners, managers and operators hull inspection and thickness measurement support. Ship owners can use the system to plan, track and implement the inspection strategies for their fleet. It provides significant benefits by reducing repair costs, demonstrating regulatory compliance and streamlining internal processes.

Eni ranked first in survey of Italian Companies’ transparency in anti-bribery programs

ENIThis was decided by Transparency International Italy, which assesses also Companies’ organizational transparency and the economic and financial information on activities in the countries where they have a presence.

San Donato Milanese (Milan), 2 October 2013 – Eni has been ranked first in a survey conducted by Transparency International Italy into the corporate reporting on transparency and anti-bribery policies of Italian companies. The survey, which used a sample of the largest Italian companies by market capitalization, has analyzed three areas of transparency in corporate reporting: anti-bribery programs, the organization (for example, information on relations with subsidiaries and affiliates) and the publication of key economic and financial data related to the activities in each country where companies have a presence.

The results of the research highlight Eni’s strong commitment to the fight against corruption, where Eni received the highest score in the survey, as well as in the field of organizational transparency. Wärtsilä announces the introduction of next generation thruster portfolio

wartsila_smallWärtsilä, the marine industry’s leading solutions and services provider, introduces a new series of both steerable and transverse thrusters that will further develop the current portfolio. The new Wärtsilä Steerable Thruster series (WST) is being introduced to replace the company’s Modular Thruster and Compact Thruster series, while the new Wärtsilä Transverse Thruster series (WTT) is replacing the current range of transverse thrusters. The new products have been developed in response to changing market demands, requiring competitive thruster products which are more efficient and cover a wider power range.

This major product development project was launched by Wärtsilä’s Propulsion R&D already in 2011. The latest insights in thruster design were implemented using state-of-the-art numerical simulation tools.

The first product to enter the pilot phase is a 4500 kW under water (de)-mountable steerable thruster, the WST-45-U, which began its pilot phase in summer 2013. Two more products, the WST-14 and the WTT-11, are scheduled to begin their pilot phase before the end of this year.
